Gastech 2008, the 23rd International Conference & Exhibition for the LNG, LPG and Natural Gas Industries, being held in Bangkok, Thailand 10-13 March is set to be the most successful event in the series, the event organiser has announced.
It is already larger than any previous Gastech, with exhibitors from more countries than at any other show in the 35-year history of the event, and registrations from around the world are soaring.
“We’re now exactly a month away from opening day on 10 March, and are delighted to announce that well over 1,500 people from nearly 50 countries have already registered to attend the conference,” explains event director, Tony Stephenson of DMG World Media (UK) ltd, organisers of the event.
“There will undoubtedly be a rush of registrations over the coming month for what is a highly relevant conference combining an opening ceremony in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, ministerial and keynote addresses, commercial and technical presentations, poster sessions and panel debates.”
Stephenson said, “many more will register to visit the exhibition at this truly milestone event. We are delighted to share this success with our hosts the PTT Group, who have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of Gastech 2008.”
“Gastech is not only taking place in one of the fastest growing economies in the world, but also in a nation that has successfully established itself as the regional energy centre of the Asia Pacific region, the hub of energy supply, trade and distribution due to its geographic location, large-scale domestic energy market, extensive energy infrastructure and expertise in the energy business.
“This is all happening under a government that has accelerated the development of natural gas by revising laws to attract investors and implementing pro-active policies to promote the region as a strong alternative for gas exploration.”
The statistics speak for themselves. Exhibitors from 36 countries have filled over 12,200m2 - some seventy per cent larger than the previous Gastech held in late 2006 in Abu Dhabi . In all, over 5,700 decision makers from within the industry were at the Gastech 2006 conference and exhibition.
“We are eager to encourage all with a professional/business interest in the LNG, LPG and natural gas industries to attend the exhibition where they will find some 300 exhibitors from 36 countries showcasing the very latest industry developments,” explains Tony Stephenson. Exhibition registration is free of charge to all with a professional/business interest in the industries served by Gastech.
As well as a packed conference programme and busy exhibition, features within Gastech 2008 include the inaugural Gastech LNG Gallery, dedicated to the history of the industry; the Fuelling the Future initiative aimed at students from around the world; a full programme of social events combining networking opportunities in a relaxed atmosphere; the Gastech LNG World Shipping Hosted Buyers Programme (March 9); and technical tours organised by PTT Group (14 March).
