Dolphin Energy Limited will undertake a routine maintenance and inspection programme for the Stream 1 facilities of the Dolphin gas processing plant and one production platform in Qatar during the first quarter of 2009, the company has announced.
According to the official statement, this pre-planned programme will involve a shutdown of approximately half of Dolphin’s gas flow from Qatar to the UAE for a period of between two and three weeks: the schedule will be coordinated with all Dolphin customers to ensure minimal disruption.
Dolphin gas supply to customers for this period is therefore expected to be around 1 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day (scf/day) rather than the regular 2009 daily production estimate of two billion scf/day.
Routine maintenance shutdowns of this type are a regular feature of the energy industry worldwide.
This temporary shutdown is being undertaken to ensure that the highest standards of safety, maintenance and environmental protection continue to be followed in all areas of the company’s business, the statement said. |
