Turkish firm to build oil terminal in Iraq

Turkish storage tank construction and service company, Ergil, has secured a turnkey oil terminal construction of Suleymania Fuel Storage Tank Project in Suleymania, Northern Iraq.
Engineering and design studies have begun last week, and total project scheduled to finish in 8 months, the company said.
The 60,000 m3 total capacity terminal will consist 12 tanks including administrative buildings, warehouses, social buildings, five loading platforms, and landscaping.
Terminal will be operated by North Iraqi Regional Government, which will distribute oil to local market, and support local operations in Iraq , and minimise Iraq ’s dependence on foreign sources.
According to the official statement, it is one of the first oil storage terminal investments after the war wherein Ergil is proud to involve such project. It expressed its support Iraqis to re-building Iraq .
Erol Dag, Project Group Manager at Ergil, said: “The ability to mobilise, centralise, and manage a project Iraq is not an easy task, however Ergil has vast experience in working risky countries, such as Iraq . Past years has taught us how to set up the most secure working environment for our crew and minimize the risk.”
Rahmi Oktay Altunergil, Business Director Manager, added: “Turkish companies have to take some risks and help our neighbor – Iraq - to rebuild it.” |
