Business intelligence and performance management solutions Cognos, joined partner Performance Systems in announcing phase one of a successful implementation at energy leader Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO).
KJO is a joint venture between Aramco Gulf Operations and Kuwait Gulf Oil in the oil and gas exploration and production industry. After a series of Business Intelligence product reviews, KJO opted to go live with Cognos 8.
“Recent technological changes at KJO are making a difference already,” said Mutlaq Al-Khodhair, Manager Corporate Planning, KJO. “We need a single version of the truth in our daily operations, and excellent products and partners have made this possible,” he added.
One immediate effect of the new investment is considerable savings in time and man-hours, not least with the production of monthly reports for shareholders. KJO, which had a minimal IT legacy from its previous corporate incarnation, required business systems adequate to the new demands placed on it.
“Twenty first century concerns like KJO require the most modern support,” said Guy Rickett, General Manager of Performance Systems. “We have set out to make this a reality.”
For Cognos Middle East, this new business opportunity demonstrates the continuing relevance of its involvement in Business Intelligence, Corporate Plan and, more recently, in Corporate Performance Management.
“Recent investments by KJO are evidence of utility and applicability of Cognos products to a wide range of enterprises and situations,” said Derek Morrison, General Manager, Cognos Middle East. “We anticipate that this fruitful business relationship will resonate throughout the company and the sector as a whole.” |
