Consortium finds gas in Algeria

Repsol YPF , Sonatrach, RWE Dea and Edison International consortium has discovered gas from a deep well with of 5,116 metre a depth in the Reggane, north of Algeria . Since the establishment of the consortium, Reggane-6 is the fourth well to yield gas. The Reggane-6 well has tested gas from the Ordovicium formation for the first time. Together with the other reservoirs already found, the discovery in this geological formation adds to the region’s gas reserves. Extensive exploration and appraisal work is ongoing in the Reggane Basin .
