Regional to global: J.Ray’s Middle East chief promoted

J. Ray McDermott has promoted Hafez Aghili to senior vice president of Global Operations, a newly created post. To be based in Houston , Aghili will oversee regional and global marine operating activities.
Prior to his promotion, Aghili was the senior vice president and general manager of J. Ray’s Middle East and India operations. That position is now handed over to Stewart Mitchell, who was recently the general manager for Qatar projects
Aghili began his career in the oil and gas industry in Houston in 1975 when he joined Hudson Engineering Corporation. He then joined J. Ray in the Middle East in 1991 as project director.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin , a master’s degree in business administration from Strathclyde University , and a doctorate in chemical engineering from Rice University .
