Petrofac's Sharjah division receives ISO and OHSAS certifications

Petrofac says its Sharjah-based Engineering & Construction (E&C) division has achieved independent certifications to the international standards for environmental, health and safety - ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
The E&C division achieved its certifications through LRQA (Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance).
The E&C division's business management system shares the same principles as the two standards and securing certification was therefore a natural progression for the engineering and construction team.
The two stage certification process involved a thorough independent audit of construction activities on four major engineering, procurement and construction projects in Oman , Kuwait and Tunisia as well as the engineering and procurement activities being conducted out of the main offices in Sharjah, UAE.
Commenting on the certification, Maroun Semaan, chief executive of E&C, said: "This exercise was the next logical step in the demonstration and development of our HSE management capabilities. It serves to reinforce our commitment to continual improvement in HSE performance and to the protection of the environment, our people, plant and other assets." |
