Iranian occupation of UAE's three islands of Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa will be high on the agenda of GCC summit, named the Jaber Summit, which started in Riyadh on Saturday, said Abdul Rahman Al Attiyah, GCC Secretary General.

In a press conference held last night, Al Attiyah urged Iran to respond to the repeated GCC calls to resolve the occupied islands issue by dialogue or by referring the issue to the International Court of Justice.

Commenting on remarks made recently by an Iranian official in which he described the issue as a "misunderstanding, Al Attiyah said: "It is not a matter of understanding but of occupation of islands belonging to a GCC country. The GCC and UAE have always called for a peaceful solution to the issue." He added that the Iranian occupation of the islands will be among the top agenda of the summit.
