TGS in offshore Oman survey

Norwegian seismic surveyor TGS-Nopec said it had begun to carry out a 6,000 km, multi-client, two-dimensional seismic survey offshore Oman .
'The survey area is considered highly prospective yet under-explored and lacks any previous data in the deep water areas,' Richard Horscroft, TGS-Nopec's general manager in Africa and the Middle East , said in a statement.
The survey is being carried by the M/V Akademik Lazarev vessel under contract to TGS.
The programme is expected to be completed by mid-January and processed data is to be available to participants in the second quarter.
TGS did not give the value of the contract or name the companies funding it. |
