The 12th Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) staged earlier this month at Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre is being proclaimed "the best ever".
"This year's ADIPEC was truly fantastic" said dmg world media vice president Neil Wood "Demand for participation at the 2006 event was higher than ever and we were oversubscribed massively. Attendance too was the best ever, proving that Abu Dhabi is the perfect location for an event of such stature.
"In fact, the demand was so great that ADIPEC 2008 will be a 30,000 square metre event - over twice the size of 2006."
ADIPEC 2006 featured more than 1200 exhibitors from 54 countries under the theme, 'Meeting the Increasing Oil and Gas Demand through Innovation.'
Simon Horgan, CEO of ADNEC said: "This was dmg world media's first ever exhibition in Abu Dhabi. The world was watching and dmg world media, ADNEC and the city of Abu Dhabi delivered in style. Next year's event will be the largest petroleum event in the World and this further underlines the huge potential of Abu Dhabi for the exhibition industry"
Through talks and discussions spread over four days, ADIPEC 2006 explored crucial issues of environment, geo-science integration, oil and gas development cycles, drilling improvements and advances in petroleum technology.
"ADIPEC 2006 is an important event not only for the petroleum industry but also for the economy of Abu Dhabi. The show is internationally recognised as one of the most important petroleum industry events. The fact that ADNEC plays host to such a prestigious exhibition underscores both the venue's and the emirate's stature as the perfect destination for large-scale international trade shows."
