UAE second top oil supplier to Japan

Japan oil dependence on the United Arab Emirates reached 27.7% (34.03 million barrel) of Japan 's total oil imports. According to Japan 's Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, the UAE ranked second after Saudi Arabia which delivered 36.23 million barrel (29.5% of Japan crude imports).

Iran ranked third with 14.53 million barrel (11.8 %) and Qatar fourth with 11.51 million barrel (9%) to the southeast Asian industrial giant, while Iraq's Basra light crude accounted for 1.6%. 90% of Japan's total crude imports-estimated at 122.97 million barrel- came from the Middle East. The figures represent crude quantities which were delivered during last September to Japan 's refineries, storage facilities and tanks at ports. (WAM)
