Red Spider expands into the Middle East

Red Spider Technology has opened an office in the Middle East and appointed Willie Morrison as regional manager. This move follows the company's first visit to the region earlier this year. Red Spider anticipates that the Middle East will contribute $10 million per year in revenue by 2009.

Willie Morrison is well known in the region and will be responsible for establishing and running the company's regional office in Jebel Ali. He will be promoting Red Spider Technology's well intervention and completion solutions to clients operating in the area, working through a network of agents.

Willie brings with him more than 16 years experience in the oil and gas industry. He spent the last six years in Dubai , most recently as Eastern Hemisphere Business Development Manager for a leading provider of solid expandable tubular solutions. Prior to this, Willie held regional technical sales positions with a number of well Intervention and completion companies.

Gary Smith, Red Spider's Marketing Manager for New Technology said: "Establishing a presence in the Middle East and opening a regional office in Dubai shows our commitment to the region and further expands our growing network of clients.

´With approximately 50% of the world's remaining known oil reserves located in the Middle East region and being extracted at record rates, there is a requirement for new and innovative technologies to meet the upsurge in demand and the changing nature of the industry in the region.
