Abu Dhabi hosts Gastech

Abu Dhabi is this year hosting Gastech – the 22 nd international conference and exhibition for the LNG, LPG and natural gas industries in a milestone that is said to feature strongest line up of speakers, panels, sessions and keynotes.
To be held from 4 to 7 December 4-7, the event alternates between gas producing and gas consuming countries, on an 18 month cycle. The 2005 event was held in Spain with 5,298 attendees. It is expected that Gastech 2006 event will surpass that.
This year will see a number of firsts including the 2006 Excellence in Energy Awards; the Gastech IT Zone; Gastech and LNG Hosted Buyers Programme; GasTV Live; and the first Gastech Invitational Golf Tournament and Meet at the Oasis - an initiative designed to ensure that attendees can arrange onsite meetings in an effective way.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre where Gastech will be held, said: "The gas business in Abu Dhabi will almost double in the next five years - a trend that is set to continue for many years to come. I am very pleased that this year's Gastech will be in Abu Dhabi right at the heart of the world's gas industry."
Hosted by Adnoc and co-hosted by Dolphin Energy, the event is under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the guidance of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Gastech will be officially opened by the Crown Prince at the Emirates Palace Hotel.
There will be addresses by Mohammed bin Dhaen Al-Hamli, Minister of Energy , UAE ; Yousef Omair bin Yousef, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Supreme Petroleum Council , and Adnoc CEO ; Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, CEO, Dolphin Energy; Dr Edmund Daukoru, President of OPEC ; Toshihiro Nikai, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry , Japan ; and Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy , Qatar .
Industry contributions will also come from Jim Mulva, Chairman and CEO, ConocoPhillips; Thierry Desmarest , Chairman , Total; Tony Meggs, Group Vice President, Technology, BP; andPrasert Bunsumpun, President, PTT. |
