Maersk Qatar Oil awards contract to BJ Tubular Services

BJ Tubular Services said it was awarded a contract from Maersk Oil Qatar AS to provide a range of services on all the company˙s wells in Qatar , particularly in the Al Shaheen Field. In addition to hammer conductor-driving services, BJ is supplying cold-cutting services.
This contract is being carried out by BJ Tubular Services personnel and equipment from its operations base in Doha , Qatar , with administrative support being supplied by the division˙s office in Dubai , UAE.
BJ crews will use the state-of-the-art hydraulic pile driving system known as the S90 Hydrohammer to drive 20-inch conductors to create foundations for the wells included in Maersk Oil Qatar ˙s drilling program offshore Qatar .

BJ have since 2005 provided a similar service to Maersk Oil and Gas on a number of wells located in the Danish sector of the North Sea . Currently, BJ is providing Maersk Oil and Gas with hammer conductor-driving services, conductor running and cold-cutting services. Since 2002, BJ has successfully driven conductors on more than 100 Maersk Oil and Gas wells in the North Sea . Since the early 1990s, BJ has been running casing and tubing, driving conductors and supplying PCE (primary cementation equipment) products for Maersk Oil projects around the world.
