“We needed a workstation that was powerful enough to run our high-end seismic and modelling applications which could be seamlessly integrated into our existing environment, whilst also meeting our stringent needs in cost and reliability," said Masoud Al-Mughairy, Team Leader (IS/IT), Adco Petroleum Development Division. "The CELSIUS workstation powered by AMD's Opteron processor more than meets these criteria and will be important in the development of our technical platform."

Fujitsu Siemens Computers' CELSIUS V830 workstations benefits from the AMD-8132" chipset component Hyper Transport" technology which enables high-performance PCI-X 2.0 connectivity to AMD Opteron processor-based systems providing increased throughput, improved RAS (Reliability, Availability, Serviceability) capabilities, robust data management and investigation.

"The CELSIUS V830 workstation has been designed to deliver the best performance for the workstation industry's most demanding applications such as those which Adco Petroleum Development Division currently uses," said Fadi Helou, Fujitsu Siemens Sales Manager Large Enterprise. 'This machine creates an innovative workstation platform that provides the performance and reliability enterprise customers' demand."

A key CELSIUS workstation benefit for Adco is the ability to run intensive 3-D modelling applications directly from user desktops and also in ADCO's Virtual Reality Centre The Majlis"; users will be able to utilize the power of NVIDIA's Latest Quadro FX4500 graphics processor and visualize immersive 3-D stereo applications using specialized goggles.

"Long years of experience with the Oil and Gas sector and our partnership with Fujitsu Siemens Computers and AMD have allowed us to offer a turnkey solution fully tailored to ADCO requirements," said Ivan Shishkov, Enterprise Sales Manager of Fujitsu Services UAE.
