Invensys has won a major contract to supply Foxboro and Eurotherm control equipment for use on the West Quarna and Misrif oil fields in southern Iraq.
The contract was awarded by Axsia, Part of the NATCO Group of companies, and includes 138 T630 controllers, 134 743CA controllers, six Eurotherm graphic controllers and 27 off-field transmitters.
When fully commissioned early next year, the new equipment will provide a seamless flow of information between field controllers and those based in the main control room (MCR).
This meets the customer's main objective that plants associated with the West Quarna and Misrif fields can be operated and controlled both from the field and from the MCR.
The skid-mounted controllers are currently being assembled in Newbury, England, and are to be shipped to the Middle East next month.
