Legal requirements for OMV and Verbund merger not fulfilled

OMV Aktiengesellschaft announces that the necessary parliamentary decisions, which would have been a precondition for the OMV and Verbund merger, will not be taken. For the re alisation of the merger a two thirds majority of the Austrian Parliament would have been required in order to transfer the 51% stake in Verbund owned by the Republic to OMV Verbund.
