BP Exploration Operating Company Limited has awarded Weatherford a new contract for providing tubular running services on a pan-European basis. The contract is about $150 million over a five-year term with potential extension periods.
In the invitation to tender document, the criteria for award included Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental, competence and business alignment.
The pan-European award follows last years’ award by BP Baku of a similar long-term contract across the operating installations there, as well as Gulf of Mexico awards on many of BP’s prestigious deep water operations.
Wolfgang Puennel, Regional Vice President for the North Sea, Europe and West Africa commented: “This year Weatherford celebrates 40 years in the UK, and BP has been a highly supportive client for all of that time. We look forward to continued growth in this market with them.”
