Saipem wins Saudi and Nigeria deals

Italian oilfield services company Saipem won a $1.76 billion contract in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
The contract in Saudi Arabia is awarded by Saudi Aramco. Expected to be completed by late next year, the lump sum turnkey contract looks to build a plant for separating gas and oil under Saudi Aramco's Khursaniyah development programme. It includes utilities, production facilities and two separation trains with a total capacity of 500,000 barrels per day.
In Nigeria, Saipem had been awarded the contract by Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria for engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning for the logistics base in Gbaran Ubie field in Niger Delta.The project is due to be completed in the third quarter of 2008.
Saipem is controlled by Italy's biggest oil and gas group Eni.
