Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has received two especially made cars that are powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) as well as by the regular traditional gasoline. The new cars came with the option to manually switch to the desired fuel type ,with 3 CNG cylinders having the capacity of 39 cubic meters, which is enough to power the engine for a range of 450 kilometres.

The regular gasoline tank enables driver to achieve a non-stop range of 400 kilometres, without the need to refuel. The automatic fuel-selection option eliminates the need for refuelling for a total range of 800 kilometres.

ADNOC Distribution stressed that this type of cars can bring about a significant reduction in environmental pollution and harmful emissions. Natural gas is less expensive compared to gasoline, which would encourage a large number of consumers to go for bi-fuel and CNG-powered cars. CNG refuelling service will be available at ADNOC stations in Abu Dhabi. (WAM)
