READ appoints QHSE advisor

READ Well Services (RWS), a North Sea-based technology provider to the upstream oil and gas industry, has appointed Andy Jones as its first full-time staff QHSE Advisor.
Based in Aberdeen, JOnes is NEBOSH and IOSH-qu alified and will take a major role in qu ality and HSE. He will also be maintaining READ’s HSE and ISO 9001:2000 accreditations and standards.
READ is a speci alist niche technology developer and service provider, offering exploration, well construction and well intervention service support throughout reservoir life to meet evolving customer needs.
Paul Hazel, Vice President Operations, Read Well Services Europe/West Africa, said: “Andy’s recruitment reflects the continuing people growth of the company. We saw our headcount grow by more than 20 per cent in 2005, and this trend will continue. It also shows our 100 per cent commitment to HSQ&E. We expect to achieve OHSAS 18001 accreditation during 2006, and we are already ISO 9001:2000 accredited.’
Andy’s role will involve regular contact with READ clients and will further enhance READ's safe working partnerships, and its exemplary safety record.
Jones joins READ from Fugro Robertson, where he worked in qu ality and HSE roles on an international basis. Before that he worked in mud-logging in Chad, Libya, Holland, Denmark, Senegal, and Kenya. He also worked as a wellsite geologist in Trinidad, Armenia and the North Sea.
Jones is relocating to Aberdeen from his most recent post in North Wales. He said: ‘I am pleased to be returning to Aberdeen to work with a very proactive company like READ, in this challenging new role at READ. I am also looking forward to reacquainting myself to the club running scene and cycling.”
