Largest seawater treatment plant expanded

Ali I. Al-Naimi, Saudi’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources commended the key members of Southern Area Oil Operations for completing the expansion of Qurayyah plant, under the budget and ahead of schedule.

Al-Naimi together with Abdallah S. Jum'ah, Saudi Aramco's president and CEO, inaugurated Qurayyah, which is considered the world's largest seawater treatment plant.

He said: “I also would like to congratulate management for its forethought in meeting the future demand for treated seawater. This plant will be needed to reach the highest potential and efficiency for all of the Kingdom's oil reservoirs."

Al-Naimi also was impressed with the level of Saudisation in the expansion adding the dedication of young Saudis in this project was a testament to their everlasting contribution in the country's economy.
