The latest release of I/O’s System Four offers a comprehensive suite of new features to ensure the cost-effective acquisition of full-wave, fully sampled seismic data in the most challenging onshore environments. The third generation of the system, called System Four3, incorporates several key features that are designed to maximize uptime during field operations and deliver significant productivity gains.

Notable product enhancements include:

• Advanced static and lightning protection

• Improved system responsiveness with significant improvements in wakeup and status pull times, and near zero overhead time between shots

• Introduction of DataBridgeTM, a wireless backbone for obstacle avoidance

• Expanded cable offerings customized for specific environmental challenges

• Addition of ½ ms sample rate to support the acquisition of analog high resolution seismic data.

Ralph Muse, Vice President of I/O’s Land Imaging Systems Division, commented, “Working closely with our current System Four customers, I/O’s engineering team incorporated a series of enhancements that will deliver significant productivity gains and maximize available recording time during field operations. As we see the demand for full-wave data increase, the System Four3 platform, coupled with our VectorSeis digital, 3C sensor, will further allow oil and gas companies to address a wide range of challenging geophysical objectives and obtain vital information needed to reduce E&P uncertainties.”

Additional productivity benefits can be achieved with the system’s new vibroseis productivity package that provides tighter integration with I/O’s Pelton Vib ProTM source controller and incorporates a new release of Vib NetTM. Vib Net II unleashes the full productivity potential of source driven acquisition and enables stakeless surveys with its vibrator fleet navigation capabilities and System Four’s ability to output center of gravity (COG) information.

System Four3 continues to build on the existing strengths of lower total cost of ownership, superior performance in near proximity to static and lightning, advanced telemetry management, a Windows-based operating system, unmatched system dynamic range and the VectorSeis nintegration found in previous releases of the system.
