Thailand's PTT Exploration and Production PCL has discovered natural gas, crude oil and condensate in its Shams-4 exploration well at its Block 44 project in Oman, said PTTEP’s statement in Thailand’s stock exchange.
The project is fully owned and operated by its unit PTTEP Oman Co.
The company said it found the gas, oil and condensate in two reservoir formations with a total thickness of about 96 metres at its Shams-4 exploration well after drilling to a total depth of 3,750 metres, Dow Jones reported.
In the first reservoir formation, the testing showed a natural gas flow rate of about 29 million standard cubic feet a day and condensate flow rate of around 1,770 barrels a day.
In the second reservoir formation, the testing indicated a gas flow rate of about 6.7 mmscf/d and crude oil flow rate of around 7,880 bpd.
The company plans to produce oil and condensate from the Shams-4 well by the end of 2006.
