The Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer), a subsidiary of state-run Abu Dhabi National Oil Co has installed two new plants to increase gasoline production with improved environmental specifications.
The new catalytic reformer plant has a 12,000 barrels per day capacity while the isomerisation plant has a capacity of 19,000 bpd.
The new facilities will allow company to cope up with the growing demand of gasoline in the UAE market. The plants will produce gasoline with high specifications and improved quality through the reduction of Aromatics and Benzene contents from the existing levels, says Takreer in a statement.
Both units were already commissioned and are now producing low sulphur gas oil.
Takreer says it has implemented the entire project successfully by a project team with international experience.
The project designing began in October 2000. The project phases, engineering, supply and construction, were awarded in June 2002 with a completion schedule of 36 months and by a total project cost of more than $500million.
