:: UAE firms begin pumping Kurdish gas

UAE-based companies Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum have announced the start-up of natural gas production, processing and transportation via pipeline in their major joint project in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Kazakhstan state-energy company KazMunayGas (KMG) have signed an agreement with US oil major ConocoPhillips and Abu Dhabi-owned investment arm Mubadala Development Company for the exploration and development of Nursultan or “N” Block in the Caspian Sea.

Qatargas and Nakilat have received the delivery of ‘Mozah,’ the world’s largest LNG carrier at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard on Geoje Island last week.

French seismic company CGGVeritas has been awarded a multi-year contract extension by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to undertake a high-productivity, high-density onshore seismic acquisition project in Oman.

:: Sterling farms-out Kurdistan interest to Addax

UK-based independent Sterling Energy will retain a 66.67% interest in the Sangaw North Production Sharing Contract (PSC) after it has agreed to farm-out a 33.33% interest in the acreage located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, to Addax Petroleum Sangaw Limited.


:: Lamprell first half profit jumps 32%


UAE-based engineering and construction provider Lamprell has reported a 32% increase in net profit to $47.8 million for the first half of 2008, an increase from $36.2 million in 2007.

:: Cosmo Oil takes 29.5% stake in Qatar block


Japan’s Cosmo Oil has acquired 29.5% stake in Block 11 to join an oil field development project offshore Qatar through its fully owned subsidiary.

:: Emerald reports Khurbet East steady flow

UK-based independent Emerald Energy is planning to expand the processing capacity at the Khurbet East field after it has reported a steady production rate in the Syrian block.

:: EFC to supply choke control systems in Middle East

UK-based instrumentation, monitoring and control systems manufacturer Electro-Flow Controls (EFC) has completed contracts worth more than $1 million for choke control systems in the Middle East and the UAE.
