Effective April 2007, Dubai Petroleum Company (DPC) will end its role as operator of Dubai offshore oilfields. This marks the end of Dubai 's first offshore oil concession and beginning of a new phase in which the Dubai will directly control its offshore oil resources.

RasGas II announced plans to implement sales of 2.5 million tonnes per year (Mta) of LNG to Petronet LNG Limited ( India), completing a 7.5-Mta sales agreement it had signed in 1999.
:: Hyundai, Shell sign letter of intent for GTL project in Qatar

Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) said that it has signed a letter of intent with Qatar Shell GTL Limited, a Royal Dutch Shell plc subsidiary, for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for the feed gas preparation works of the Pearl GTL Project. HHI will perform the work in a consortium with Chiyoda Corp. called CHC.

:: BP shuts down Prudhoe Bay Oil Field

BP Exploration Alaska, Inc. has begun an orderly and phased shutdown of the Prudhoe Bay oil field following the discovery of unexpectedly severe corrosion and a small spill from a Prudhoe Bay oil transit line. Shutting down the field will take days to complete.
