Kofi Annan, the United Nations Secretary General arrived here in Dubai to receive the Zayed International Pr ize. Worth $1 million, the awards are considered the most prestigious environment prize.

Although Dubai is located in the heart of the world’s oil region, the emirate derives less than 10 per cent of its income from oil. TransGlobe Energy completed the drilling in Yemen’s An Nagyah19 well after reaching a depth of 1,705 metres. Oil flowed at a stabilised rate of 3,226 barrels of light (43 degree API) oil per day and 1.6 million cubic feet of gas per day at a flowing pressure of 500 psi on a 48/64 inch choke.
